About Me

I was tempted to put this under Drivel.

There's not a great deal to say about me. By my own admission I am a computer and history geek. I would dearly love to study archaeology at university; if it wasn't for the fact that I hate exams I would have so done by now. And by "hate" I mean to say that they make me feel sick, as do driving test or any kind of test/exam experience.

I'm a member of The Sealed Knot Society, I also head up the Society's webteam and look after Sir Henry Bard's Regiment homepage.

I'm also a member of: the Muzzle Loaders Association of Great Britain, the Royal Archaeological Institute, the Council for British Archaeology, the British Museum Friends, the Friends of the Royal Armouries, Subterranea Britanica, English Heritage, the Liberal Democrats, oh and CAMRA, although I don't drink anymore; I still support the concept of Real Ale though.

I have recently started practicing Iaido (居合道).

I read, roleplay, cook (quite well apparently), listen to music, watch animé (especially works by Studio Ghibli), love films by Akira Kurosawa and Takeshi Kitano (you must watch Zatôichi (座頭市)) and I draw badly.

I have, at various times, been known to the denizens of alt.fan.pratchett, by various names.

I'm a Senior Coder in Undernet's Coder Committee; I'm also an IRC Operator. I hang out and Op in, amongst other places, #cisco and #linuxhelp.

And I collect English Civil War period coins.

Boring, aren't I?
